A lot of people have reservations towards 80's country, since it's is on the border of the 'country' which the general population hold a negative prejudice against. Sure it may sound cleaner and more pop focused and perhaps less rootsy but the lyrical content is still there... the music fits it. Also it's got a lot of my personal favourite subject topics (spouse killings, faith in Jesus).
