Mac & Devin Go to High School will never be considered one of the greatest soundtracks of all time, or even the best Snoop Dogg album of 2011 (most would consider that Doggumentary). It's also got Wiz who in 2011 largely abandoned Kush & OJ's laid back clean stoner aesthetic for the sake of critically panned pop-rock-rap party anthems on Rolling Papers
But it's insanely likable. The most likable hip hop album of 2011, or even in recent memory. The production is nice, the hooks are nice, the quality is consistent, and you can tell that Snoop and Wiz are having a great time taking turns rapping about pussy and weed. Like The Throne but more consistent and without the pretense of making any sort of statement- artistic or otherwise
